About The Peaceful Pet Shop

We love pets as much as you do.

About Bridget & Why

Hi, my name is Bridget, and I’m the owner of The Peaceful Pet Shop. I’ve always believed that our pets are not just animals—they are cherished members of our family. They bring us joy, comfort, loyalty, and unconditional love, and they deserve the same devotion in return. I’ve long felt that pets thrive when we care for their whole being: their physical health, their emotional balance, and the environment they live in. A holistic approach honors all three, helping our dogs and cats live happy, healthy, peaceful lives.

My journey to creating The Peaceful Pet Shop began long before the doors opened. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian to help animals and a psychologist to help people. Life took me down a different path, and although I spent many years in a stable, structured career, I eventually realized my bucket was empty. I wasn’t living the purpose that had always been in my heart.

That purpose became impossible to ignore as I navigated the illnesses, sensitivities, and heartbreaking losses of my own pets—some far too young to cancer. Those experiences changed me deeply. They opened my eyes to the importance of nutrition, environment, and mindful care. They also showed me how overwhelming it can feel for pet parents who simply want to do right by their fur babies.

I’m a simple furbaby mom who has seen a lot, learned a lot, and loves deeply. And I know—without question—that my calling is to help pets and the people who love them.
The Peaceful Pet Shop was born from that calling. My mission is to provide healthier, more holistic options for dogs and cats: raw and human‑grade foods, organic and eco‑friendly products, non‑toxic toys, gentle grooming essentials, and wellness tools I personally trust and use. My time working as an apprentice dog trainer strengthened my passion for helping families build peaceful, joyful relationships with their dogs through training, socialization, and positive guidance.

Every product, service, and recommendation in this shop reflects my belief that small, intentional choices can make a meaningful difference—for our pets, our homes, and our planet. My goal is to create a space where pet parents feel supported, informed, and welcomed with kindness. A place rooted in peace, compassion, and genuine care.

Thank you for being here. It’s an honor to walk alongside you as you care for the animals who mean the world to you. I look forward to getting to know each of you and your furry family members.

God bless—wishing you peace and joy,

Bridget

Tiger — My Sweet Boy

Tiger was my first pet as an adult. He passed away in 2018 at the incredible age of 16½ years old. He was a purebred cameo Persian that my mom purchased for me at a pet store. At the time, I had no idea that this gentle little cat would one day help save my life. Looking back now, I truly believe God placed him in my life exactly when I needed him.

I was a young single mom when Tiger came into my life. Money was tight, and I was simply doing the best I could with what I knew at the time. He received his first few months of vaccinations, but after he was neutered, that was the last of them. His food certainly wasn’t anything special either—honestly, it was probably the feline equivalent of ramen noodles and 99-cent hot dogs. But what he lacked in luxury, he made up for in love. He was loved more than words could ever fully express.

Mollie Mae Wiggle Butt

Mollie Mae Wiggle Butt is our sassy girl, and as of 2026 she is 14½ years old. For a dog her age, she is still surprisingly energetic and full of personality. A few years ago, we truly believed we might only have months left with her. Yet here she is today—still spunky, still opinionated, and still going as strong as a 14½-year-old dog reasonably can.

For most of her life, Mollie received all of her routine vaccinations. About three years ago, we made the decision to stop. We had already been learning more about holistic care and began questioning whether continuing them was the right choice for her aging body. Looking back now, we sometimes wonder if stepping away from those additional shots may have helped her body keep going strong.

Mollie is a purebred Cocker Spaniel that I purchased from a kennel. Years later, I learned that the kennel had a reputation for selling puppies from puppy mills. At the time, I had no idea that this was even something that happened. Like many people, I simply didn’t know what I didn’t know yet.

But Mollie had other plans that day.

I had gone to the kennel just to get a “puppy fix.” Sometimes I would stop by places like that just to play with the puppies for a little while and then go home. I fully intended to do the same thing that day. But Mollie had different ideas.

After about two hours of playing with her, we tried to walk away. That’s when she dramatically threw herself on the ground, looked up with the saddest little eyes you’ve ever seen, and started screaming as if to say, “You are not leaving me here!”

And just like that… she chose us. Thirty minutes later, she was riding home with us.

Prince MJ

Prince MJ was born in March of 2018 and was named after two of my favorite musicians growing up—Prince and Michael Jackson.

This part of the story might sound a little terrible at first, but the truth is I brought Prince home the day after I lost my beloved cat, Tiger. The house suddenly felt too quiet. For years I had fallen asleep to the sound of Tiger’s purring, and I simply couldn’t stand the thought of a home without that comforting sound. So I did what many grieving pet owners probably shouldn’t do—I searched Google. Within minutes I found a photo of the tiniest, most adorable little silver doll-faced Persian kitten. He was a silver Persian/Himalayan mix, and unbelievably, he was located only about ten minutes away from us. It felt almost meant to be.

When I brought him home, he was about as cute as a kitten could possibly be—soft, fluffy, and completely irresistible.

Then the teenage phase hit.

This part still makes me laugh, and I’m fairly certain the veterinarian probably still tells this story.

At the time, Prince had started randomly attacking my arm. I couldn’t understand what was going on. One day while holding him, I was joking with him and asking, “Why are you so cute and so naughty?” (Yes, I talk to all of my animals like they understand every word.)

That’s when I noticed something that looked like a small brown worm. Naturally, I panicked and rushed him straight to the vet. As it turns out… it was not a worm at all. It was simply a very excited young male kitten who had discovered his hormones. I still laugh thinking about that moment of complete confusion. The vet explained everything and informed me that we just needed to wait about another month before he could be neutered.

Noel Christmas Angel aka Miss Noel aka Puppy Kitty

December 28, 2017 – April 2024

While Prince MJ was going through his dramatic teenage phase, a post popped up on Facebook about a 9-month-old Maine Coon that needed a home. She was only about 45 minutes away. I had always wanted a Maine Coon, so in my mind it sounded like the perfect solution. My brilliant plan was simple: maybe Prince needed a friend, and I would get to enjoy two of my favorite breeds of cats at the same time.

It sounded like a win-win.

As it turns out, it also came with some big learning lessons.

Persians and Maine Coons could not be more different in personality. Persians tend to be calm, quiet, and reserved. Maine Coons, on the other hand, are often described as “forever kittens.” And while that sounds adorable—and it is—it also means your 14-plus-pound cat might climb curtains, your legs, furniture, and anything else it can reach. If something can be knocked over, pushed off a shelf, or broken, a curious Maine Coon will probably find it and do it.

Miss Noel definitely kept us on our toes. She had a huge personality and gave our whole household a run for our money.

Only about three months after bringing her home, we discovered she had tumors growing in both of her ears. Surgery was the only option, and both tumors had to be removed. The experience clearly shook her trust. For nearly two years afterward, she would barely let me come near her.

At one point I realized I had two cats in the house—and yet neither one really wanted affection. It was heartbreaking.

Justice — My Guardian Angel

This is the hardest story for me to write. Justice left a hole in my heart that will never truly heal.

At the time, I was already on a waitlist for my dog Remington when the opportunity for Justice unexpectedly came along. My husband and I spent a few weeks going back and forth about it. Eventually we decided to go for it. He knew how much I loved hiking and camping, and he wasn’t comfortable with me doing those things alone. The plan was simple: someday I would have two dogs that could go on adventures with me.

Justice was a beautiful Anatolian Shepherd mix who came from a farm in Oklahoma. From the beginning, she showed how intelligent and capable she was. She did wonderfully in basic training at a local pet store program, picking things up quickly and confidently.

Her livestock guardian instincts were strong, even without livestock. I still remember when she was about seven months old and someone brought a wolf hybrid into the training facility. Justice walked right up to the glass, stood tall, and growled. In that moment, it was clear she took her guardian role very seriously.

Since we didn’t have livestock, she decided that we were her flock.
Me, the cats, and Remi became the things she believed were hers to protect.
Everything you read about Anatolian Shepherds says they aren’t usually overly friendly with strangers, are difficult to train, and definitely aren’t lap dogs. Justice broke every one of those stereotypes. She was my shadow and incredibly easy to train.

Sargeant Remington of New Zion — “Remi”

Born March 12, 2022

Remington—our Remi—came from a breeder in New York, but the journey to finding him was a long one. This was my dream breed, and I spent nearly ten years researching before I ever reached out to breeders. After that, I sat patiently on a waitlist for five more years before the day finally came.

This was my first experience working closely with a breeder, and I truly believed I had done all my homework. Like many things in life and in my journey with animals, it also came with learning lessons. Those lessons eventually inspired me to educate others on what it truly means to be an ethical breeder so that they can make informed choices when searching for a breed specific puppy. I will also have articles about breeder vs adoption, as there is amazing things and beauty in both.

When Remi came home, he was not exactly the healthy, thriving puppy I had imagined. He had three different parasites, was severely underweight at only six pounds, and even had the tip of one ear bitten off by his mother.

It was not the start I had hoped for, but it only made me more determined to give him the care he deserved.

Because of the experiences I had gone through with my other pets, I began approaching his health a little differently. Remi received his first two years of required vaccinations, but after that we chose a different path. Going forward, we plan to continue rabies vaccinations as required while using titer testing to measure his immunity levels rather than automatically repeating vaccines.

Luna Moon — “Luna Moona”

Ohhh, Miss Luna.

Luna Moon—affectionately known as Luna Moona Tuna—came from the same breeder as Noel. She was the kitten the breeder had promised when Noel passed, something I deeply appreciated after everything we had gone through.

When I reached out about a kitten, I gave a very specific request: “Give me your naughtiest, sassiest, but also most loving kitten.” Well… we definitely got exactly what we asked for. Luna is all of that—and then some.

We’ve only had her for about six months, but she has already made one thing very clear: she is absolutely the boss of the house. Every single day with her brings a new adventure, and life with Luna is never boring.

She is spunky, playful, full of attitude, and endlessly curious. She keeps us laughing with her bold personality and mischievous antics. At the same time, she has a loving side that reminds us why we welcomed another big personality into our home.

Her story is really just beginning, and I have a feeling Luna Moona will have many adventures—and probably a few more surprises—in the years to come. But one thing is already certain: this little ball of sass has brought new laughter, energy, and joy back into our home.

New Puppy — Name with Picture To Be Announced Soon

Born February 24, 2026
This little one’s story is just beginning. – I will say that she is a niece of Remi, as his brother is the dad.

Our newest puppy was born in Canada on February 24, 2026, and while a name hasn’t been chosen yet, the excitement surrounding this puppy is already very real. After many years of learning, growing, and experiencing the highs and heartbreaks that can come with loving animals, this journey feels especially meaningful.

This time, I have had the opportunity to work closely with a breeder who truly represents what I believe ethical breeding should look like. The level of care, transparency, and dedication to the health and well-being of the dogs has been incredibly reassuring. Experiences like this show just how much of a difference a responsible and thoughtful breeder can make.
